Knit School - How to Purl Stitch

Step-by-Step Guide

Insert your right knitting wand in front the first stitch on your left knitting wand.

Wrap the yarn around the right wand from back to front in an anti-clockwise direction.

Carefully push your right wand downwards until the tip reaches your left wand.

It should look like this as you catch the loop with the tip of the right wand and pull through the gap.

Gently pull your right wand so that the loop you've just made gets a little bigger.

Carefully pass the loop from your right wand to your left wand

You've now created a purl stitch!

Gently pull the yarn to tighten the stitch on your wand. Now do it all again for your next stitch.
